Youth Commission Meeting
On January 13, from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Center. Present your opinions, and recommend youth services and programs and assist the city of Berkeley on their decisions regarding youth.

Come purchase locally grown produce and food on Saturdays on Center Street and MLK in Downtown Berkeley! Support organic farmers and get some delicious food while you’re at it.
World Culture Assembly
Tell your teachers to sign your class up to go to the World Culture Assembly on February 6th! Auditions are still open, so if you’re interested in performing, contact Jillian Curran.
Friday Nights at OMCA
On January 17, the Oakland Museum of California will shut down the street for a giant block party. There are a variety of different food trucks, music, dancing, and free admission to the museum. (This happens every Friday night starting January 17).
Vinegar Tom at Shotgun Theatre
Come view Shotgun Theatres’ Vinegar Tom on Thursdays until January 26 for discounted youth prices. This play is described as “a wild mash-up of desperate women living in 17th century society with modern musical numbers”.
Alameda County Food Bank
Register with a group of friends for a shift at the Alameda County Food Bank, in Alameda, and get your volunteer hours in! They are especially in need of weekday shifts, but anytime you are free is an excellent time to give back.
Cheeseboard Collective Benefit
On Sunday, January 19, at the Cheeseboard Pizza Collective, all proceeds go towards scholarships and practice space for the Girls Rock music program, which supports young girls in developing their music skills in the Bay Area.

Girls’ Varsity Basketball
Girls’ varsity basketball plays Piedmont at Berkeley High School on January 24 at 5:30 PM. Come support them at their game!
