Climate protests, teacher strikes, the homelessness crisis…this year in Berkeley was defined by constant change, unrest, and hope for the future. Looking back through roughly 6,000 photos taken by the Jacket’s photo staff, we have selected a few that define 2019 and exhibit our photographers’ talented work. Whether they capture key moments of protests, anecdotal moments of local festivals, the best play in a sports game, or the essential problems undermining our local community, these photos reflect how we live and the world around us. We enjoyed this year and look forward to the next.

To another 6,000.
