By Sophie Mirza, February 7th, 2025

“We’re gonna be seeing a lot of vintage trends, especially back to the 80s,” said senior Margeaux Holland, “Lots of different decades have been coming back, and I think the 80s are next.” She also predicted a continued rise in the use of Artificial Intelligence in art and film.

“It’s gonna be a good year for video games,” said senior Covey Lau, “I think more, smaller Indie companies are gonna come up.” He predicted that it won’t be quite as good a year for music as 2024, “I think that it will be a worse year for music than last year, but only because last year was so good.”

“Ariana Grande is gonna go to jail,” predicted senior Maddalena Walsh, “I think Converse are gonna be back in, and I think the color blue will be shunned.”

“Some old musicians are gonna come back and be really famous,” said sophomore Catherine Zuber. She spoke unsurely of Taylor Swift’s trajectory, “The hype about her might calm down a little bit or she’s gonna have another huge wave.”

“Kendrick and Drake are gonna hug it out,” said junior Miles Aki, predicting the resolution of the major rap feud that happened last year.

“Bruno Mars is gonna release a new album,” said senior Chang-Min Kung, anticipating more from the Silk Sonic artist in 2025. Kung also has thoughts about the future of Jacob Elordi’s love life, predicting a future fling with another star such as Gracie Abrams in the near future.

Senior Jose Rubio-Moran, has thoughts about this year’s potential Oscar winners.  “I think (Emilia Perez) is gonna win some things and people will be outraged about it because it sucks.” Rubio-Moran also predicted success for the upcoming Superman film, set to hit theaters in July 2025.
