As the slopes begin to open, a familiar controversial question resurfaces: which is better — skiing or snowboarding? A recent Jacket poll of 201 Berkeley High School students showed that 51.7 percent of respondents voted that skiing is better, while the other 48.3 percent voted snowboarding.
51.7% of students from the poll prefer skiing.
With such a narrow percentile difference, these results indicate that both skiing and snowboarding hold a nearly equal appeal, overall though skiing maintains a modest lead. The results further emphasize that this debate is far from settled, and any proclamation of one sport being significantly “better” would be a bias-driven and subjective statement.
