“I’m most excited for Christopher Nolan’s ‘Odyssey’ movie,” Berkeley High School junior Ken Kemnitz said. “The Odyssey,” the movie adaptation of Homer’s classic Greek epic, will be released on July 17, 2026. Nolan, whose past directing credits include “Oppenheimer” and “The Dark Knight,” will bring this story to life with actors Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson.
“I’m excited about the new Spiderman movie, the Tom Holland one, because growing up I really liked Spiderman,” Andreas Lukan, a BHS senior said. “Spiderman: Brand New Day” is set to be released on July 31, 2026, with actors Holland and Zendaya returning as Peter Parker and MJ. They are also joined by “Stranger Things” star Sadie Sink, whose character has not been announced yet.
“I’m looking forward to season two of ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners,’” BHS sophomore Iain Agrell said, “It’s an anime that’s really good.” “Cyperpunk: Edgerunners” is based on the videogame “Cyberpunk 2077” that is currently on Netflix. “Cyperpunk: Edgerunners 2” will be a standalone series with new characters and storyline, with speculation to be released in late 2026.
“I am most excited for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’” Ezra Grziwok Dowling, a BHS junior, said, “I feel like it’ll be fun to watch in the theaters with my friends.” “Avengers: Doomsday,” the long awaited next part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), will be released on Dec. 18, 2026. Robert Downey Jr., who is most known for his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man, will return to the MCU as Dr. Victor von Doom, the movie’s main antagonist.
“‘The Lord of the Rings’ extended editions (will be) in theaters for the 25th anniversary,” Lev Goldmiller, a BHS junior said, “I’m very excited.” “The Lord of the Rings” returns to theaters from Jan. 16-18, and Jan. 23-25, 2026. The following weekend, the movies will be shown in their standard format. Fans will once again get to see the iconic trilogy on the big screen.
