Ollie Miller is a senior on the Berkeley High School basketball team. He has been part of the varsity team since his sophomore year, along with many of his peers. To him, they are not just teammates, but also friends and people he has grown up with. “Lots of us have been playing together since middle school and even past that, so we have really good chemistry,” Miller stated.
Outside of BHS, Miller has also been able to use his sport to connect with people he otherwise wouldn’t relate to. He shared his experience playing in New York last summer: “I met kids in New York that I’m still really good friends with today… and it’s all through basketball,” he shared.
He feels that basketball has taught him important life skills. He stated, “(Basketball has) taught me a lot of leadership qualities and also just ways of interacting with so many people I’ve played with throughout my whole life.”
