In 18 U.S. states, including Arkansas, Texas, and Florida, various bills and legislations have been passed to restrict or ban certain high school courses, such as AP African American Studies.

BUSD Sustainability Program and Climate Literacy Resolution work in tandem to ensure bright future for Berkeley students

In 2018, Berkeley Unified School District adopted the Sustainability Program and Plan. The plan covers green buildings & materials, transportation, water, energy, waste, food, schoolyards, and eco-literacy and nature-based education.

The BHS Community Theater is located alongside the A Building.

In January of 2024, the nearly four-year-long remodel to the Berkeley High School Community Theater is expected to reach completion. The COVID-19 shutdown delayed construction, but the majority of structural and aesthetic renovations have been completed.

BHS holds  student horror film festival

On Halloween, Berkeley High School showed  short horror films made by students at a film festival in the little theater. Amanda Marini teaches media classes at BHS and has been looking for a way to broadcast her students’ work.
