Our Monologues perform student stories


The captivating 2024 production of Our Monologues featured 24 different performances. Throughout the student-run show’s two-and-a-half-hour run time, it blended a combination of spoken word, music, and dance to explore a wide array of themes including gender, identity, race, friendship, and growing up.

Controversy of the Blaxploitaiton genre


The 1970s saw the rise of an entirely new movie genre, quickly capturing the public’s attention. Movies from this genre began to feature Black casts and protagonists, challenging Hollywood’s history with predominantly white casting.

What’s your favorite place to hang out in the Bay Area?


Berkeley High School senior Charlotte Lee mentioned her love for nature in Berkeley. “Up behind the Claremont, there’s this grove of eucalyptus trees,” she said, “It’s great.” She also shared her appreciation for the Berkeley Hills, “It’s really pretty up there, it’s a great place to go on hikes and stuff like that,” Lee said.
