In honor of Latinx Heritage Month, Berkeley’s libraries planned workshops, classes, and booktalks and created reading lists.  Latinx Heritage Month began on Wednesday, September 15 and will last until Friday, October 15.

BHS Holds in-Person Club Fair With COVID-19 Precautions

Berkeley High School clubs had the opportunity to advertise themselves to the student body at the annual BHS Club Fair during lunch on Wednesday, September 8 through Friday, September 10.  In previous years, the Club Fair was held during class time, and teachers had to opt into taking their entire class to the fair.

FDA Fully Approves Pfizer Vaccine; Still No Student Mandate

The Food and Drug Administration fully approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for individuals over 16 years old on August 23.  Previously, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, along with the Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines, had only been available under emergency use authorization, a categorization used by the FDA to make drugs and other medical products
