This photo story is a trip through the South Island of New Zealand in an RV. The over a week long drive started at Christchurch, then to Lake Tekapo, Queenstown at lake Wakatipu, and finished the drive along the west coast of the island looping back to Christchurch. The scenery was unforgettable, ragged mountains smoothed out into rolling hills covered in sheep, surrounded by flower fields, wide lakes, rivers, or some spectacle. We viewed glaciers from rainforests, and walked on beaches coated in clouds. In Queenstown we were grateful to experience a helicopter ride over the slightly inaccessible coastal mountain range of Milford Sound, where films such as Mission Impossible and Lord of the Rings were filmed, and the mountain tops are inseparable from the clouds. Located 5000 km away from the south pole, in the height of summer, this is New Zealand.
