BHS Custodians Afflicted by Staff Shortages During Pandemic
With hygiene and disinfecting more important than ever, Berkeley High School, like much of the state, is facing a custodial staff shortage. According to Jeffrey Snow, facilities and operations manager at BHS, there are currently 15 night custodians and one day custodian at BHS.

The Bay Area Hispano Institute for Advancement held an event for Día de los Muertos on October 30 at the Berkeley Adult School. The event included a low riding car exhibit, stalls from many different Berkeley businesses, and food stands selling pan dulce, birria tacos, and aguas frescas.
BHS Provides First School-Wide Consent Education Assemblies
Berkeley High School students demanded consent education during their walkouts in February 2020. Now, over a year later, the school has followed through with several school-wide assemblies. Dean of Students Claudia Gonzalez, along with BHS’s Sexual Harm Advisory Committee, helped organize the assemblies and hired sexual educator Shafia Zaloom to run them.
BUSD Briefly Halts Bus Service After COVID-19 Outbreak
