Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage (AAPI) month was first recognized by Barack Obama in 2009, and since then it has been celebrated by Berkeley High. For today's episode, we talked to members of Berkeley High's AAPI community about how the school's unique programs have helped strengthened their cultural identity.

The captivating 2024 production of Our Monologues featured 24 different performances. Throughout the student-run show’s two-and-a-half-hour run time, it blended a combination of spoken word, music, and dance to explore a wide array of themes including gender, identity, race, friendship, and growing up.

Taylor Swift new album shatters records with mixed reception

“The Tortured Poets Department” was released on midnight of Friday, April 19, 2024 Eastern Time by the seemingly omnipresent Taylor Swift. The original album contains 16 songs, while “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” contains 31, adding an entire 15 songs, and bringing the runtime to two hours and two minutes.

Athlete Profile: Jonah Lachs

Senior Jonah Lachs began playing volleyball his sophomore year at Berkeley High. “I wanted to play a sport, so I went to volleyball tryouts, somehow made the team, and just fell in love with the sport from there,” he said.

Competitive skating offers a mixed bag

In skateboarding competitions, competitors can participate in a variety of categories such as street, park, and bowl skateboarding. They are given two to three attempts to complete their combination of tricks called ‘runs.’ Judges award points based on the execution, difficulty, and flow of the run.  Zael Johnson, a junior, started competing in skateboarding during
